According to CNN, social media played an important role in helping voters make decisions during the 2014 mid-term
  • the Pew Internet project survey found that during the 2014 campaigns, 25% of registered voters used their mobile phones to get political news and 16% used Twitter or Facebook to follow political candidates
  • This was a  significant increase over usage in earlier elections.  You can use the  online politics reports on the Pew website to find data on the trends.
